Guitar pop in 2009 seems to require a sense of nostalgia or timelessness, usually in the form of massive amounts of reverb and poor recording quality. In some cases this gimmick has been just that, but sometimes they’re just the preferred method for artists writing some genuinely affecting tunes. “Time,” from Beach Fossils falls into the latter category.
With layers of guitars and cavernous vocals, the song is both calm and dramatic, quiet and loud, with a relaxed sense of yearning. [ MBV ].
