Twitter has become an increasingly favoured and important method of communication in the world of music, but it would be far more effective if fans/gig-goers/consumers weren't left feeling as useful as a windscreen wiper on a submarine. The social networking site is constantly buzzing with bands and bloggers directing public messages to fellow bands and bloggers. The humble fan, meanwhile, is being made to feel like they're Billy no-followers eavesdropping on a conversation they're not party to or, worse still, reading the punchline to a joke they won't get.
