  • Remix Roundup feat. Justice, A-Trak, Starcad ..
We haven’t done one of these for a while. Good thing then that this week’s remix roundup is bigger and better than ever. Starcadian have turned Touch Tone‘s Home Away From Home into a slow disco groove. FOE has made Bluebell‘s Normal Heights her own with a heavy growling bassline and those desperate vocals. • Foe
It's nice to know Air's 10,000 Hz Legend robot is still getting work. The eerie modulated voice kicks in on Foe's title track, ominously whispering against a lush bed of dated synths, "Injustice will not stand/For every bomb that you diffuse, I will plant another." Like a Greek chorus, the voice is brought in several times throughout the record's 10 tracks—its mechanical acid tongue often delivering the headiest of blows.

  • Jarvis Cocker Rebukes David Cameron
Jarvis Cocker has rebuked David Cameron after the politician answered a question put to him from the singer. Jarvis Cocker has rarely been one to stand fools. The frontman's rakish wit and acidic tongue has put many a foe to the sword, so the leader of the Conservative party should really have known better than to engage the singer in verbal warfare. Last year The Guardian contacted Jarvis Cocker, asking the singer if he had a question for David Cameron. Composing himself, the frontman asked: "Re: abstract finance ideas such as derivatives and futures, do you actually understand how ...

  • New releases for the week of June 5, 2012 ..
With the number of new albums diminished a little last week due to the holiday weekend, the industry returns in full force for June with plenty of big names to ring in the summer season--including The Beach Boys , Neil Young and Crazy Horse , and Cypress Hill . One of our personal faves Liars return with WIXIW (pictured). Emeli Sande makes her US debut. CocoRosie throw out a seven inch. And that is really just scratching the surface. Without going into full detail, we should certain mention Melvins Lite , ZZ Ward , and The Hives . Full list below. Release Date Artist Album Label ...

  • Age Of Consent - Heartbreak
    - [Press play] - Age of Consent are back 'Heartbreak', a drum lead slice of dark electronic pop with an equally dark video. We've been obsessing over the band for a while now. Their previous track 'Beach' and a collaboration with FOE were slick - click HERE to hear. 'Heartbreak' has been shown a lot of love so far, lets hope that continues. As a little present the single's B-Side is free to download. I bloody love presents: #LEDGE

  • Great Escape 2012: Day 2 Evening Roundup – 1 ..
I was back at LIFE, ready to roll to have an audience with another band we’ve written about, Hannah Clark and FOE. Maybe it was the great sunny weather, but by the time I made it back upstairs to the loft performance space of LIFE, the room was rammed. There’s this weird red glowing light in the place as well, so I felt like I was in one of the panic scenes in the film... Continue reading Great Escape 2012: Day 2 Evening Roundup – 11th May 2012
